Tips For An Inexpensive Total Body Makeover
Most women at some point in their life would love to indulge in a total body makeover. Usually this thought occurs to someone after they have given birth, lost a dramatic amount of weight, changed careers or experienced some other life changing event. Fortunately you don't have to pay out thousands of dollars to a plastic surgeon to make some minor changes that will result in a convenient and inspiring body makeover.

Here are some small steps and changes you can make to participate in the body makeover experience without shelling out too much money:

  • Invest in a few new and nice pieces of clothing for your wardrobe. This is especially helpful if you have lost weight, recently had a baby or have made a career move. No one looks good in clothes that are frumpy and don't fit. Whether you've gained or lost weight you will always look best in clothes that don't fit. Simply buying a few key pieces can dramatically improve your appearance and your self confidence. You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars. Consider a couple of pair of slacks, a blazer, a couple of blouses and t-shirts.

  • Invest in at least one pair of jeans that fit really well. These jeans should highlight your assets. In fact, if you find a pair of jeans you really love, invest in a couple of pair so you can rotate them. They'll wear out less fast and keep you feeling stunning even when 'dressed down' for the day.

  • Consider a new hairstyle. Often a simple haircut can make the difference between a positive and negative self image. A haircut may be all you need to feel you have a new body makeover or image. If you always get a $10 haircut at a no name salon, consider spending $20 at a reputable salon someone has referred you to. A qualified stylist may be able to recommend a better style to match your features, and your favorite inexpensive stylist can likely maintain the style once you have decided on it. (Of course, one of my favorite stylists was my $10 stylist who frequently changed my look. When it comes to hair, it's more about selecting a stylist that understands your hair type and facial features than it is about money).

  • Color your hair. You'd be surprised the difference a little color can make.

  • Invest in a new shade of lipstick. Consider something dramatic or out of the ordinary for you.

  • Get an inexpensive pedicure. You can get a pedicure for less than $20 or even buy a 'do it yourself' kit and get a salon quality pedicure from the comfort of your home. You don't have to spend a lot of time or money and keeping your toes looking great is an important part of any body makeover.

  • Change your diet. You may be surprised that cutting back on one item, like soda pop, can dramatically improve your mood, spirit and your shape! Food has a lot to do about the way we feel. Be sure you are eating plenty of foods rich in vitamins and minerals and getting a daily dose of essential fatty acids. These mood boosting substances will keep you feeling great about your new look each and every day.
Remember, often it's little changes that make the biggest difference in the way we feel about ourselves. Regular exercise, a healthy diet and some minor changes like a new hairstyle may be all you need to feel like you've had a professional body makeover.
