Eat Right With A Body Type Diet
One of the more popular diets in the media of late is the body type diet. There are actually several different versions of this diet. One of the more commonly adopted techniques is the body type diet that suggests all people fall into three basic body types: endomorph, mesomorph and ectomorph.
A body type diet suggests that we eat certain foods based on our body type, and that eating this way will help promote a proper weight and our overall health and well being.
Endomorph Body Type Diet
If you fit into this category you likely have bigger bones, a larger bottom half (i.e. more fat in your thighs and calves) and more fat around the mid section. Endomorphs tend to hold onto weight easier than other body types. Fortunately there is a body type diet that works well for endomorphs! An endomorph should concentrate on eating lean proteins, a wide variety of fruits and vegetables and limiting their intake of fats, sugars and processed foods. Doing so can help an endomorph transform there shape into that of a mesomorph or ectomorph.
Ectomorph Body Type Diet
The ectomorph body type is naturally lean. If you are an ectomorph you are likely taller and tend to burn calories quickly. You may find it difficult to keep weight on. Many complain that being an ectomorph is just as challenging as being an endomorph. One of the goals an ectomorph should focus on when following a body type diet is creating more lean muscle weight. This will help fill out an ectomorph's figure.
This does not mean an ectomorph should indulge in greasy overly fatty foods. Doing so will only increase their risk of cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure, whether they are naturally lean or not. Rather an ectomorph should focus on eating multiple times per day and eating nutritious and calorie dense foods. Ample proteins, carbohydrates and fats should be included in the diet. Extra protein may help build more lean muscle. An ectomorph would probably do well to concentrate on more strength training exercises rather than endurance or cardiovascular exercises to help fill out their figure. An ectomorph needn't worry about buying skim milk but should drink 2% instead. Small changes like this can help an ectomorph fill out their figure and maintain a lean but shapely appearance.
Mesomorph Body Type Diet
Mesomorphs tend to look great. Must are naturally lean with adequate lean muscle to fat ratios. Mesomorphs tend to have an athletic build. Fortunately all of us have an inner mesomorph. The key is discovering what our body's natural tendencies are and finding ways to supplement our diet and exercise routing to promote a more athletic or lean looking figure.
A mesomorph body type diet looks much like an endomorph diet with plenty of whole foods, lean proteins, whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Because of the lean muscle mass in an athletic build, most mesomorphs can get away with consuming slightly higher volumes of calories because their bodies tend to burn them efficiently. To maintain their shape a mesomorph will have to get plenty of routine exercise at least three to four times every week.
Remember no matter what your body type the key to fitness is eating a well balanced diet and getting plenty of exercise. Whenever you eat more calories than your body uses, you will gain weight, regardless of your body type. Food is fuel for the body. Keep this in mind at your next meal. You should always aspire to eat a wide variety of healthy foods and eat until you are just full, not until you are stuffed. It takes the brain roughly 20 minutes to register satiety. So eat slowly, take your time and enjoy every morsel!
