The Best Physical Fitness Training Equipment
My favorite piece of physical fitness training equipment is the treadmill. The treadmill affords you a wealth of exercise options that keep changing. I find the treadmill ideal for intense workouts when I am healthy and motivated, and lighter workouts when I am fatigued or just looking for a small pick me up. Many people are under the mistaken impression that you have to be an avid athlete or runner to enjoy the benefits of a treadmill. This is simply not the case. This handy piece of physical fitness training equipment is ideal for people of all physical fitness levels. Whether you are just starting an exercise program or whether you are a seasoned athlete, chances are you'll find a treadmill workout rewarding. I have even used the treadmill throughout my pregnancies without trouble or consequence.

Treadmills vs. Elliptical Trainers
There are those out there that swear by elliptical trainers. For many the elliptical trainer is the ideal physical fitness training equipment. My husband is one such individual. Elliptical trainers do offer many health benefits. Like the treadmill they offer varied workout choices. One of the biggest benefits of elliptical trainers is they are low impact. This means if you have ever suffered knee problems or joint pain an elliptical trainer is probably a better choice for you than a treadmill.

Other Types of Fitness Training Equipment
Of course you shouldn't limit yourself to the obvious. There are dozens of different types of training equipment available on the market today. A perfect example is jogger strollers. These handy devices allow you to workout with your baby! Exercise bikes, stair climbers and rowers are also other forms of traditional cardiovascular equipment. Aside from the basics, you can also invest in multiple fitness equipment accessories. Here are a few of my favorites:

  • GPS Watches - These handy devices allow you to keep track of multiple variables while working out. You can for example measure how fast you are walking or running, biking or even skiing with these unique watches. You can also calculate your average speed and the maximum pace you are working out at.

  • Electronic Muscle Stimulators - Most athletes are familiar with these electronic devices. An electronic muscle stimulator can help propel your physical fitness to the next level. Most help stimulate muscle performance by boosting size and strength as well as speeding up recovery times. You probably won't need one of these however unless you are a professional or very serious athlete.

  • Body Fat Scales - Body fat scales are an easy way to keep track of your fitness progress. All you have to do is step on the scale and an electric pulse is sent coursing through your system that measures your total body fat. Body fat measurements are a much more accurate way for assessing your fitness than weight alone.

  • Stopwatches - Stop watches are an inexpensive investment helpful for measuring your speed, distance and workout time and intensity.

  • Heart rate monitors - Heart rate monitors are a good investment for any fitness enthusiast regardless of their level of fitness. Heart rate monitors can ensure that you are working out in your target heart rate zone to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of your workout. They can also let you know when you are working out too hard.
The type of fitness training equipment you invest in will depend largely on your personal needs, fitness level and daily routine. Even if you are just starting out however you should consider investing in a toy or two. You may find a heart rate monitor or body fat scale monitor for example is all the motivation you need to stick to your fitness program!
